Bingo card maker

Make printable bingo cards for numbers, times tables, adding, halves, percentages or words. Every card is different, and you get a caller sheet with every call on it. Play it round the kitchen table as a family game, or use it to practise spellings and tables without it feeling like practice.

Ages 4–14Maths and spelling2 or more players

How to play

  1. Print the cards and the caller sheet. Give everyone a card and a pencil, or some counters.
  2. The caller cuts out the calls and draws them from a bag, or reads down the list, ticking each one.
  3. Players cross off anything on their card that matches the call. For maths, they work out the answer first.
  4. The first to cross off a whole line shouts “Bingo!”. Check it against the caller sheet, then play on for a full card.

Ways to use bingo

  • Spelling bingoPick this week’s spelling list. Say each word in a sentence, and players find it on their card. For a harder game, spell the word out letter by letter and let them work out which one it is.
  • Times tables bingoThe caller reads “7 × 8” and players look for 56. It’s quick recall practice without a worksheet. Start with 2, 5 and 10, then move on to all the tables.
  • Topic wordsChoose Octopus or Marrakech. Read out the meaning on the caller sheet instead of the word, and players find the word that matches.
  • Family gamesLittle ones can play numbers 1–20 with a grown-up beside them. Take turns being the caller, so everyone gets to read out. Slip the cards into plastic wallets and use a whiteboard pen to play again and again.
